A Staycation at the Citadines Connect Airport Hotel in Sydney
Getting to the airport in Sydney can be such a hassle. Especially if you live farther away and need to spend hours driving into the city to make your way to your flight. Luckily, it doesn't have to be so stressful! Start your vacation right and spend a night at the Citadines Connect Sydney Airport Hotel before you start your vacation! The vacation really does start when you step into this hotel!
Recently, I had the pleasure of staying at the Citadines Connect Sydney Airport Hotel. It's located just across the street from the Sydney Airport, but does not feel like you're staying in an airport hotel! The whole hotel is decorated with lots of color and plants, so it feels just like an extension of home! The reception is located at the penthouse level. Once you make your way to the top, you're immediately impressed with the spacious lounge area and floor to ceiling windows overlooking the airport runway. Just past reception, the hotel has a beautiful bar with a "Grab &Go" section of munchies available at any time.
I was nervous about staying in a hotel during this COVID 19 pandemic, but was super impressed with the measures taken by Citadines Connect to ensure the safety of all staff and guests. Firstly, check-in is done in a completely contactless way. Once you enter, your reservation is double checked by staff and you actually confirm your reservation by a QR code. Simply scan the code onto your phone and fill out the remaining contact information.
If you choose to lounge at the bar area or in any other public area of the hotel, there are other QR codes to scan and "check in" to make sure each area is clean and safe. There were also signs in every public area to remind people of social distancing on the floors and tables. There were never any issues and the staff was so attentive and accommodating.

I loved how spacious our room was! There was a lounge area as well as a bed. I loved how the TV turned so you could watch TV in both bed and in the lounge area too. The bathroom was so spacious. I definitely enjoyed the soaking bath tub. We took our drinks up to the penthouse and enjoyed with some snacks at the outdoor covered patio. It was absolute luxury to be able to enjoy a glass of wine with the fire going and the sun setting over the skyline of Sydney! It definitely made me feel like I was on vacation!
If you need transportation to the airport, there is a shuttle bus available from Citadines Connect to the Domestic and International Airports. You can arrange this with the reception once you check in.
The hotel also has a gym. Unfortunately, it is closed right now to comply with the COVID safety measure, but will be available once restrictions are lifted.
Staying at the Citadines Connect Sydney Airport Hotel is the perfect way to start or end a vacation. This is a must stay when flying out of the Sydney Airport.
